Through a partnership with Microban® Products Company, Cornelius has changed drink dispensing technology to improve the products in which juice is stored and dispensed.

 Microban® product protection is a tasteless, odorless, and colorless antimicrobial ingredient built into the plastic. It is incorporated to inhibit bacterial and fungal growth in products where they live and breed. Microban® Products Company has developed the proprietary technology to make Microban® product protection part of a solid product's composition by incorporating it directly into a polymer's molecular structure.

Microban® product protection inhibits the growth of microorganisms that cause odors and stains by utilizing an electrochemical mode of action to penetrate and disrupt their cell walls. Upon cell wall penetration, leakage of essential metabolites occurs and other key cell functions are disrupted. These cells are unable to grow and reproduce.

Microban® product protection augments proper equipment hygiene protocols and provides a cleaner clean between cleanings. It is built in to the product and is not intended to protect the user from foodborne illness.
